Dave Poth knocked in 4 runs to help Sonoma beat Miami, 7-2. Poth produced 1 single and 1 home run. Sonoma reliever Paul Herzog picked up the win, while Mike Hammond took the loss for Miami. The 4th-place Scorpions hiked their record to 18-14.

With Sonoma leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Poth came up to bat against Miami pitcher Mike Hammond. Poth hit a fastball to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Scorpions on top, 5-0.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Poth.
