Miami Boll Weevils pitcher Mike Mudge was in top form, leading his team past the Sonoma Scorpions, 2-1. Jerrod Notaro picked up the save for Miami, his 6th of the year. With the win, Miami upped its record to 23-8.

Dave Haines drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances for Miami. The 26-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Kevin McDonald. It was his 14th walk of the season.
