Milkmen Beat Visiting Boll Weevils, 5-1

Vermont turned a good performance from starting pitcher Pat Wilber into a 5-1 triumph over the Miami Boll Weevils at Emeralds Ballpark. The winner was Wilber. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jon Caruso. Brian Webb got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
In the bottom of the second, Vermont center fielder Jake Brosius whacked a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Milkmen in front, 2-0.
"Pat pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
With the win, Vermont goes to 17-15, while the Boll Weevils fall to 9-23.
