Scorpions Lose By a Run at Hialeah
The performance of Casey Parsons proved critical in helping Hialeah beat Sonoma, 7-6. The Firecats first baseman was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Simon Peretti, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Picking up the save was Gilberto Vergara, his 2nd.

Hialeah took a 7-4 lead on Jack Carney's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Carney hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sonoma pitcher Bryan Donaghy shaking his head.

Hialeah manager John Costa was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The victory makes Hialeah 11-21.
