The Miami Boll Weevils stopped the Hamilton Bulldogs, 7-5, at Ballpark of Miami. The Boll Weevils got a big game from Nick Alley, who was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Miami reliever Micah Brown picked up the win to move to 2-1. Brian Hammond suffered the loss. Justin Farrell closed the game out for Miami, earning his 6th save.

Alley had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 cutter from Brian Hammond, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Boll Weevils a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Alley.

In comments to the Miami Herald, Alley insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.

The Boll Weevils go to 12-20 with the win.
