Scorpions Collect 3-2 Win Over Firecats
The Sonoma Scorpions picked up a win at Firecats Ballpark, dropping the Hialeah Firecats, 3-2, in 10 innings. Ken Springer, who is tied for 5th in the W-AA in innings pitched with 38.0, was the difference-maker. The win was credited to Kasey Acree in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Fernando Salas took the loss. The Scorpions improved their record to 17-13 with the win over Hialeah.

Jared Smith hit a run-scoring triple off Fernando Salas in the top of the tenth, which put the Scorpions in front, 3-2. In addition to the triple, Smith had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 3.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Springer told the Sonoma Herald.
