Capitols Coast to 12-0 Victory
|
Cincinnati had no answer for Augusta Capitols hurler Ben Calder, who overwhelmed Bombardiers hitters as the Capitols coasted to victory, 12-0. In 5 innings, Calder surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Augusta has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Augusta used the timely hitting of Bryan Langel to capture the win. The third baseman socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Capitols ahead, 6-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We did a lot of things right," said Langel.
