Brewer goes 3-for-4 to Ignite Firecats Offense
Eric Brewer knocked in 3 runs to help Hialeah beat Miami, 7-2. The third baseman collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Kieran Carlyle got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Picking up the save was Isaburo Nakazawa, his 1st.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hialeah shortstop Matt Rock whacked a slider to right for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Firecats in front, 4-2.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Brewer told the Hialeah Chronicle.

The Boll Weevils fall to 10-18.
