Bombardiers Done In By Milkmen, 3-1
|
Pat Wilber, who is tied for 8th in the W-AA in quality starts with 3, propelled his team to victory over the Cincinnati Bombardiers. The final score was 3-1, Vermont. T.J. Hoffarth nailed down the save. Cincinnati, with the loss, is still a hardy 19-8.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Taiju Kusanagi to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Milkmen on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame remarks, Wilber applauded his team's "toughness."
