Behind an impressive start by Danny Lanzetta, Hialeah beat Stockton, 3-2. Juan Rincon earned the save for Hialeah, his 1st of the year. The loss drops Stockton to 13-14.
Juan Medrano had a big 3-run home run for the Firecats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hialeah trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Matt Hanna and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Firecats ahead, 3-2.
"Danny was pounding the zone," said Hialeah manager John Costa.
