Miami Upended by Augusta, 5-2
|
Augusta turned a good performance from starting pitcher Bernie Rios into a 5-2 triumph over the Miami Boll Weevils at The Capitol Dome. Getting the save was Colby Heim, his 5th. The loss drops the Boll Weevils to 10-16.
Augusta center fielder Adam Larson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Capitols ahead, 2-0.
"Bernie was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Augusta manager Joel Braddock.
