Firecats Rally to Win
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Hialeah Firecats and the Miami Boll Weevils. Hialeah won it, 1-0, in 10 innings. Hialeah starter Chris Mueller was in command. Rich Zavala closed it out for Hialeah, earning his 5th save. The Firecats, with only their 7th win in 26 games, could be the worst team in the league.
Mueller allowed no runs over 7.2 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Bill Murtha.
