Getting offensive support from Lance Ricke, the Miami Boll Weevils topped the Augusta Capitols, 8-1. Ricke went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Boll Weevils. Miami pitcher Jordan Pineda got the win. He's now 1-0. Glenn Ward was tagged with the loss. The victory makes Miami 11-14.

Ricke had a key at-bat for Miami early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Miami an early 2-0 lead.
