Miami left fielder Jeremy Beck was sensational. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Hialeah beat the Boll Weevils, 8-7. Hialeah reliever Juan Rincon was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Arturo Ramirez took the loss. With the loss, Miami falls to 9-15.

Jim Milian swatted a 3-run home run for Hialeah in the bottom of the fifth. The first baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Miami manager Bill Murtha. "But we decided not to take it."
