Tigercats Drop Milkmen, 3-2

The Vail Tigercats, despite a fine performance by Vermont pitcher Alex Gomez, grabbed a 3-2 win at Vail Grounds. Gomez allowed 3 runs over 7.1 innings. Brett Emma got credit for the save for Vail. It was his 1st of the year. The win puts Vail at 16-8.
The Milkmen had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Tigercats going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Jerry Robinson came to the plate. Robinson hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 changeup from Vermont hurler Alex Gomez. It was Robinson's 8th home run of the year.
Vail manager Mike Alexander praised his team's "energy."
