Bobb Helps Bombardiers Defeat Capitols, 8-0
|
Justin Bobb impressed in the 8-0 Cincinnati win over Augusta. Bobb, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2021 draft, went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Mike Kluttz, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Augusta to no runs on 1 hit over 5.2 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. Bill Samples earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Bobb hit a 2-run single off Augusta hurler Bernie Rios. It was the 15th hit of the season for Bobb and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Augusta manager Joel Braddock.
With the win, Cincinnati goes to 12-9.
