Augusta Capitols starter Jeff Sharp led his team to victory over the Sonoma Scorpions, 2-0. The right-hander was locked-in. In 6.1 innings, Sharp surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Capitols are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 6th win in 22 games.

The Capitols got a big at-bat from second baseman Regis Roper. For the game, Roper was 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Augusta a 1-0 lead.

"Jeff just settled in and did what he does," said Augusta manager Chris Clarke.
