Bombardiers Squelch Bulldogs Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers topped the Hamilton Bulldogs, 3-0, in Western AA action at Ballpark of Cincinnati. The standout performance belonged to Cincinnati pitcher and Vestavia Hills, Alabama, native Steve McCutcheon. The save went to Tony Wooten, his 2nd this season. The Bombardiers, now 6-13, have not found much traction so far in 2022.
The Bombardiers had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-0, Cincinnati, with one out. Hamilton, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Ben Leonardi dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 slider, he struck out.
