The Sonoma Scorpions used a great performance from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Randy Fischer to beat the Hialeah Firecats, 2-1, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. To call the performance of the 2023 Firecats subpar is an understatement.
Sonoma got a clutch hit from Jason Finch. The right fielder socked a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was game-ender.
"That's baseball," said Hialeah manager John Costa. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
