Bombardiers Win Streak Now at 9 After 5-0 Victory
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers picked up a win at Mariachis Ballpark, knocking off the Hamilton Bulldogs, 5-0. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Jose Paredes. He played a key role in the triumph. Paredes, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 5, and allowing no runs. Isiah Hamlin closed the game out for Cincinnati, earning his 2nd save.
Andy Ehrle had a big 2-run home run for the Bombardiers in the top of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Garcia and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Bombardiers on top, 3-0.
"The team is playing at a high level," said Bombardiers manager Nick Pauli.
The Bombardiers, now 12-4, have played inspired baseball.
