Scorpions Clip Bulldogs, 4-3
|
Sonoma beat Hamilton on the strength of starting pitcher Terence Rodda's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Rodda, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The loss drops the Hamilton record to a disappointing 7-9.
Kyle Stansberry had a big 2-run double for the Scorpions in the bottom of the second inning. With Sonoma leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Tommy Daniello and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Scorpions ahead, 4-0.
"Our offense was purring," said Sonoma manager Keith Young. "Like a well-oiled machine."
