Tigers Come Up Short at Sonoma, 3-2
|
The Sonoma Scorpions had to overcome a fine effort from London pitcher Chris Casady to win, 3-2, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Casady went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. The loss drops London to 9-4.
Jared Smith went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk for Sonoma. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Smith had a clutch at-bat. Facing London hurler Mike Banks, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Scorpions a 3-2 lead.
"That's baseball," said London manager Jose Torres. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
