Though he had a terrific game, Craig Kelley could not prevent his team, the Vermont Milkmen, from absorbing a loss. Cornwall won the game, 6-5. Kelley went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Kelly Powell. At 7-2, the Royals have played well so far.

Had Ross Myer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Myer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Royals.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Cornwall manager Jon Williams.
