The Cincinnati Bombardiers locked up a win at Vail Grounds, knocking off the Vail Tigercats, 4-1. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Jose Perez. He played a major role in the triumph. Chris Dake, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. The loss drops the Tigercats to 2-6.
Perez, a native of Melville, Louisiana, was dealing all game. He kept Vail hitters off-balance, while giving the Bombardiers 9 quality innings. Perez threw 124 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 8.
Perez told a Cincinnati Bulletin reporter that he felt "elated" after the win.
