Bombardiers Deal Firecats 8-3 Loss
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers overcame a good performance by Hialeah shortstop Steve Gonzalez to knock off Hialeah, 8-3, at Firecats Ballpark. Gonzalez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Jose Paredes. He tossed 122 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The win moves Cincinnati to a record of 7-4.
Cincinnati used a clutch at-bat from Ian Landing to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bombardiers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The vibe's good," said Cincinnati manager Nick Pauli. "We've got to keep it going."
