Royals Beat Firecats, 6-1
|
Cornwall starter Dustin Jones put a stranglehold on the Hialeah offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Royals to a 6-1 win. The defeat makes Hialeah 3-6.
The Royals got a big at-bat from second baseman Justin Moralez. For the game, Moralez went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cornwall a 3-1 lead.
"I liked his command," said Cornwall manager Ivan Cabrera. "Dustin was throwing strikes."
