Boll Weevils Drop Bombardiers, 5-4

The Cincinnati Bombardiers got a sterling performance from pitcher Ryan Johnson, but the Miami Boll Weevils still prevailed, 5-4. Johnson threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win went to Brent Kuest in relief, making him now 2-0. Ryan Johnson took the loss for Cincinnati. Mike Kelley closed the door for Miami, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Miami used the hitting of Brian Hendrix to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Boll Weevils on top, 5-0. For the game, Hendrix had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Hendrix told the Miami Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Cincinnati falls to 2-6.
