Boll Weevils Dealt 8-1 Loss by Cincinnati
|
Behind the bravura of first baseman Phil Williams, the Cincinnati Bombardiers topped the Miami Boll Weevils by the score of 8-1. Williams went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Bombardiers. Bill Samples earned the win, while 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Ramirez took the loss for Miami. The Boll Weevils, 3-7, continue their poor start to the 2025 campaign.
Cincinnati grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Williams hit a 3-run home run off Jose Ramirez. His 3rd home run of the season put the Bombardiers out in front, 4-1.
Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
