The Augusta Capitols defeated the Cornwall Royals, 7-3, at The Capitol Dome. Zach Truman produced 3 singles and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 3. Augusta pitcher Jeff Sharp got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dave Barncord got the loss. The win puts Augusta at 5-4.

The Capitols got a big hit from left fielder Chris Wunderlich. Facing Cornwall pitcher Dave Barncord in the bottom of the sixth, Wunderlich pounded a 2-run double to right-center. His 2nd double of the season put the Capitols ahead, 5-3.

"It was our day today," Wunderlich told the Augusta Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
