The Sonoma Scorpions got a sterling performance from pitcher Randy Fischer, but the Stockton Ragin Cajuns still prevailed, 5-3. Fischer threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Marc Stephan snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Randy Fischer suffered the loss. Ricardo Grados got credit for the save for Stockton. It was his 2nd of the year.

Stockton took a 3-2 lead on Chris Roberts's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Roberts hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sonoma pitcher Randy Fischer visibly frustrated.

Stockton manager Jeffrey Troke commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."

The hot start continues for the defending champion Ragin Cajuns. This was their 9th win in 11 games.
