Sad Sack Firecats Lose 6th Straight
Vail turned a fine outing from starter Jesus Howell into a victory over the Hialeah Firecats at Vail Grounds. The final score was 4-2. The win went to Rich Sargent in relief, making him now 1-1. Paul Lessard took the loss for Hialeah. Vince Rice picked up his 5th save of the season.

Paul Dankenbring chipped in for Vail, stroking a crucial run-scoring triple in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Hialeah manager John Costa.

With their winning streak at 5, the Tigercats have raced to a strong start this season.
