With Late Score, Ragin Cajuns Beat Bombardiers
|
Cincinnati third baseman Joaquin Gomez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Gomez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as Stockton beat the Bombardiers, 6-5. James Straughn snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. Stockton is off to a hot start at 7-2.
Devin Lepp was the walk-off hero for Stockton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ragin Cajuns right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Lepp said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
