Capitols Handle Sonoma, Snag 4-3 Win
|
The Augusta Capitols faced a tough opponent in Sonoma pitcher Steve Oswald, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Capitol Dome by a final score of 4-3. Oswald went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Barnett in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jason Burget took the loss. Tim Kondas picked up his 1st save of the season.
Augusta took a 4-3 lead on Kevin Cremo's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Cremo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sonoma pitcher Jason Burget visibly frustrated.
Cremo told a Augusta Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The win puts Augusta at 4-3.
