Milkmen 2-1 Winners Over Miami
|
The rain did not keep Vermont and Miami from finishing their game.
In a low-scoring contest between the Vermont Milkmen and the Miami Boll Weevils, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Vinny Padilla proved to be the difference. The Vermont right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Milkmen win. Dan Martin nailed down his 2nd save.
Vermont relied on the hitting of Josh Taylor to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Milkmen on top, 2-0. For the game, Taylor had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Padilla, "and today was a good one for us."
With their winning streak at 4, the Milkmen have raced to a strong start this season.
