Vermont Slaps 4-2 Loss on Augusta
|
The Augusta Capitols went down to defeat to Ricky Garay and his Vermont teammates. The final score was 4-2, in favor of the Milkmen. Matt Bogucki picked up the win in relief. Paul Ganley took the loss for Augusta. Vicente Perez got credit for the save for Vermont. It was his 2nd of the year.
Vermont third baseman Mike Sheets helped the Milkmen go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Sheets hit a run-scoring single off Augusta pitcher Paul Ganley.
Vermont manager Steve Reid commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
Vermont sits at 3-3 in the early going.
