Cleveland Defeated By Gladiators, 5-3
|
Phoenix parlayed a decent outing from starter Justin Watson into a solid win over the Cleveland Brawlers. The final score was 5-3. Oscar Malave closed the door for Phoenix, picking up his 6th save of the year. With the win, Phoenix is 13-15.
Phoenix used the hitting of Josh Wachter to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gladiators on top, 2-0. For the game, Wachter had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Watson told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
