Tigers Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Ballpark of Stockton. Fortunately for the London Tigers, though, Jim Applegate was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, to lead his team past the Stockton Ragin Cajuns, 3-1. The winner was Marcos Cerda, who threw 108 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits. Antonio Jusino earned the save for London, his 1st.
Josh Rountree had a direct impact on the outcome. Rountree contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put London up, 1-0.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Rountree.
With the win, London improves its record to 6-0.
