Ragin Cajuns Come Up Short at St. Louis, 1-0
|
The St. Louis Cavalry, despite a fine performance by Stockton pitcher Matt Hanna, grabbed a 1-0 win at Cavalry Ballpark. Hanna allowed 1 run over 5.1 innings. St. Louis reliever Jim Unknown got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Matt Hanna was tagged with the loss. Zhi-gang Loong picked up the save for St. Louis, his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the sixth, Marcus Walkden delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the St. Louis shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Cavalry in front, 1-0.
Walkden told a St. Louis Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Stockton, with the loss, is still a hardy 4-1.
