The Stockton Ragin Cajuns beat the Hialeah Firecats, 8-1, at Ballpark of Stockton. The win was due in part to shortstop John Platzer, who belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Bobby Bierman notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. The Ragin Cajuns, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

With Stockton leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Platzer hit a fastball from Casey Higgins for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Ragin Cajuns ahead, 5-0.
