Vail pitcher Dionísio Manteigueiro had a large part in his team beating the Cornwall Royals, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Manteigueiro picked up the win for Vail, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Earning his 2nd save for Vail was Kyle Schroeder.

Vail designated hitter Danny Gaskins landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. It was his 1st home run of the season. With it, the Tigercats took a 4-3 lead.
