Led by Eric Carpenter, the Augusta Capitols downed the Hamilton Bulldogs, 6-3. Carpenter went 2-2 with a home run for the Capitols. Juan Santana wrapped it up, recording his 1st save. Hamilton drops to 1-1.
Augusta used the clutch hitting of Bryan Langel to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Capitols ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Enjoyed this one," Langel told the Augusta Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
