Another day, another victory for the red-hot Winchester Mountaineers.

The Winchester Mountaineers stopped the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers, 11-0, at Mountaineers Park. The Mountaineers got a big game from Ryan Matthews, who was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Winchester raised its record to 109-31 with the win.

With Winchester leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Matthews came up to bat against Encinitas pitcher Brian Nichols. Matthews hit a slider to right for a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Mountaineers on top, 5-0.

"We had a nice day," said Winchester skipper Mitchell Young.
