Stars Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Hollywood Stars did just enough to sneak past the Carolina Reapers, 4-3, at Reedy River Stadium. Hollywood pitcher Carlos Carachure, in particular, had a standout performance. Carachure picked up the win for Hollywood, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. Chong-hyeon Hyong earned the save for Hollywood.
Hollywood used a timely hit from Brian Byrd to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We found a way to get it done," Byrd said.
The setback makes the Reapers 11-17.
