Wes Gordon was superb against Alcoa. The left-hander had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Chiefs victory. The score was 4-3. The win went to Dallas Price in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Manny Vega took the loss. Mescalero, at 75-63, holds down 4th place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old third baseman Trent Lovoi had a chance to be the hero. Alcoa pitcher Manny Vega had other ideas. But with no outs, Lovoi hit a sacrifice fly. The Chiefs had themselves a dramatic win.

"This game was intense," Lovoi said, postgame.
