Extra-Inning Win by Polecats Over Mermen
It took 10 innings, but the Libertyville Polecats were able to beat the Corpus Christi Mermen, 9-7, at Mermen Field. David Robinson provided some offensive muscle for Libertyville. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Joe Lilley wrapped it up, recording his 9th save. The Polecats raised their record to 60-78.

Libertyville used the timely hitting of Antonio Gonzalez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Polecats on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Robinson.
