Mescalero Gets 5-4 Win
|
Mesa catcher Joel Vaughn was sensational. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Mescalero beat the Razor Sharks, 5-4. Manny Velez got the win, improving to 13-7. He held the Razor Sharks to 3 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Tom Thompson recorded the save, making him 7 for 7.
Manuel Campos contributed to the Mescalero win with a solo home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
