Rebels Keep Streak Alive With 8-4 Win
|
Despite a great performance by Fresno first baseman Corey Ramirez, the Jackson Rebels defeated the Running Rebels by the score of 8-4 at Creeps Ballpark. Ramirez was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Pat Gannon, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Getting the save was Chris Rumrill, his 21st.
The Rebels got a big hit from left fielder Kevin Pearson. In the bottom of the sixth, Pearson smacked a 3-run home run off Fresno pitcher Marvin Henderson. It was his 22nd home run of the season. Suddenly, the Rebels were ahead, 4-3.
"The positive vibes are all around the clubhouse," said Rebels manager Brian Wenk. "Once you see a player having a good at-bat, that's really contagious."
The Rebels have now won 9 straight.
