The Mesa Razor Sharks topped the Washington Wildthings, 9-3, in Eastern AA action at Red Barons Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Mesa pitcher Eric Zane. The setback makes Washington 31-108.

Mesa used a clutch at-bat from Ryan Patterson to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Razor Sharks ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Zane.
