Winchester got a big-time effort from pitcher Jared Trombley, but it wasn't enough to keep the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers from winning the game, 3-2. Trombley threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Danny Martinez notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-4. Encinitas got a clutch hit from Steve Valkenburg. The designated hitter launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
