Suns Get Clonked by Wildthings, 8-3
|
The Washington Wildthings handed the Aurora Suns a loss at Red Barons Ballpark. The final score was 8-3. Frank Willi was one of the major contributors for Washington. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winning pitcher was Jim Unknown. He's now 1-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits for the Wildthings. Despite the win, the Wildthings still have a pitiful 34-101 record.
The Wildthings got a big boost from right fielder Harry Wells who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Suns hurler Stephon Diallo. It was his 45th RBI of the season and put Washington on top, 2-1.
"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Willi.
