Cougars Need Extra Innings to Top Mermen, 3-2
Rohnert Park and Corpus Christi played a hard-fought contest.

In a tight tilt between the Rohnert Park Cougars and the Corpus Christi Mermen, Kyle Yearwood was the difference-maker. The Rohnert Park left-hander excelled in his team's 3-2 win in 10 innings. Rohnert Park reliever Jason Ginty picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Edgar Minero took the loss.

Travis Stroupe came through with a big-time hit for Rohnert Park. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Corpus Christi manager Arturo Colon.

Rohnert Park goes to 66-71, Corpus Christi to 76-61.
