Jerry Bowman pitched a gem to lead Indianapolis to victory over the Syracuse Scorpions, 2-1. Bowman got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 5 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Scorpions fall to 11-17 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2023 season.
The Eagles got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jerry Robinson. For the game, Robinson was 1-3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Indianapolis a 1-0 lead.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Bowman.
