Sato Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Hiromichi Sato. Sato went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Traverse City pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Greensboro Grounds, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Corpus Christi Mermen had a win, 19-3, over the Bears.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.

Hiromichi Sato hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Aaron Lister in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Sato has socked 64 hits in 246 at-bats for a .260 average with 11 home runs. He is getting on base at a .384 pace and his totals also include 37 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
