Wildthings Come Up Short at Winchester, 3-2
|
The Washington Wildthings got a sterling performance from pitcher Jim Unknown, but the Winchester Mountaineers still prevailed, 3-2. Unknown threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The winning streak has now reached 8 games for the Mountaineers.
Winchester took a 3-2 lead on Josh Laster's 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Laster hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Washington pitcher Jim Unknown visibly frustrated.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Laster told the Winchester Herald.
